Inside the Nostalgia Art Journal

June 9, 2010

Here’s a peek inside my Nostalgia Art Journal. The pages – just waiting to be filled up – are made from old books and magazines, brown paper bags, recycled mail envelopes, maps, and other found paper. This journal is very close to my heart because it’s very representative of me – from the pages that I used to how I put them and the cover together.

The journal has an inside pocket and the first page includes a quote that reads “Savor the quiet moments and know how very much you matter in this world.” – a nice inspiration every time you open the journal.

Some pages feature handpainted backgrounds using mixed media.

Your journal is so inspiring! I love how your pages have some sewing on it! I also love the idea that you have pages made up from so many wonderful finds! Very very inspiring! My little journal have something similar filled with pages with some sewing on it as well. Thank you so much for sharing your loveliness with us! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!

the journal is beautiful, love the “play” page. The silhouette works beautifully. Hope you have a swagger in your step and some play time!

Wow, just wow, Johwey! Gosh I’m so jealous. I have no talent like this what so ever. It looks really great.

I finally finished my project for my mom. The Flick set is http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasonloucks/sets/72157624130596121/

Can I ask how you take your photos? Do you have one of big fancy cameras? All I have is a Nikon Coolpix. LOL Anytips would be very much of help!

Lovely journal, I love incorporating the sewing with the pages. I haven’t done that as much as I would like to. Just curious on how you bound your pages? I can’t wait to look around your site here and see more of what you are doing~ I am in the flying lessons, glad to meet you! ~Theresa
