Thought I’d be more mindful of birthdays this year and actually send out the cards I make … lol!
Rinoa’s First Visit to the Dentist

Recalling the time I had to bring Rinoa to the dentist because her front tooth suddenly turned black. It was last October. She was so brave and well-behaved. She didn’t even flinch when the dentist probed inside her mouth. I’m sure it helps that we have a really nice dentist.

Just disappointed that I can’t say the same for the oral hygienist that cleaned Rinoa’s teeth today. She was so snappy and as charming as a rock (for a lack of a better metaphor) that Rinoa got too scared to finish her cleaning.
Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

Yesterday, we drove my mom to the airport. Just like that, her visit was over. You’d think we’re used to her coming and going – but everytime she leaves, we feel a little sad. We had to bribe Rinoa with ice cream just so she’ll stop crying. We’ve gotten used to her preparing us meals that we’ll surely miss it.

Pop Culture: Twilight the Movie

Read the book at Rhea’s house and loved it. Wasn’t really too eager to see the movie cos I know how adaptations tend to disappoint. Then Mica read the book and insisted we see it. I’m glad we did yesterday. It wasn’t bad and we all had a great time. Good thing my sister-in-law gave me the next three books for Christmas. Now I know what I’m going to do tonight.

I Am The New Year
Posted on | January 1, 2009 | No Comments
“Life, I am the new year.
I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.
I am your next chance at the art of living.
I am your opportunity to practice
what you have learned about life
during the last twelve months.
All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me,
waiting for you to search it out with more determination.
All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve
is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.
All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do,
all that you hoped but did not will,
all the faith that you claimed but did not have -
these light slumber, waiting to be awakened
by the touch of a strong purpose.
I am your opportunity.
I am the new year.”
